2023-2024 UNCG Women's Basketball Schedule

GREENSBORO, N.C. –  The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team and Head Coach Trina Patterson have announced its 2023-24 regular season schedule on Thursday.

The team concluded the 2022-23 season at The Southern Conference (SoCon) Tournament in a semifinal matchup to Wofford, dropping the game by just two scoring possessions (63-68). The team defeated Mercer, 63-59 in the opening round of the tournament in an overtime deciding win over the Bears to clinch a six-game win streak from the regular season to the semifinals.

"We set out each year to design a non-conference schedule that will prepare us for success in SoCon competition," stated Coach Patterson. "We are excited for the challenges of both our non-conference as well our SoCon games."

QUICK FACTS 

• 29 regular season games: 16 home, 13 away 
• 14 SoCon games: seven home, seven away
• Non-Conference breakdown: Sun Belt (2), MEAC (2), USA South (1), Big South (4), ACC (2), AAC (1), CAA (1), Conference Carolinas (1), NCCAA (1).
• UNCG's 2023-24 season opener will be in Boone, N.C. at Appalachian State on Monday, November 6.
• The Blue & Gold will host South Carolina State for its home opener on Saturday, November 11 at noon.
• Assistant Coach Alex Miller and Associate Head Coach Cetera DeGraffenreid will return to their Alma Mater on Wednesday, December 6 as the Spartans take on North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Tar Heels earned their way to the NCAA Second Round last season.
• The Spartans will play one non-conference game at the Greensboro Coliseum against Elon on Sunday, December 10 at 2 p.m. All other home games will be in Fleming Gymnasium.
• The squad will travel out of state on two occasions in its non-conference slate. First, with a trip to Va. to take on Radford on Saturday, November 18 and 2022-23 NCAA Final Four competitor, Virginia Tech on Monday, November 20. Second, the team will head down to S.C. to face USC Upstate on Monday, December 18.
• The team will close out the 2023 calendar year by facing Converse at home on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m.
• UNCG's final non-conference matchup of the season will be played against Virginia University of Lynchburg on Monday, January 8 at 7 p.m., for the squad's first game of 2024 and its first game following winter break.
• The team will open up SoCon action on Thursday, January 11 at home against Wofford at 7 p.m., which was the last team the Spartans faced in the 2022-23 season in the conference semifinals.
• The furthest the Spartans will travel the entire 2023-24 season is to Birmingham, Ala., to take on SoCon foe Samford on Saturday, Jan. 20.
• Every SoCon match this season will be held on Thursday's and Saturday's of each week for both home and away games.
• UNCG will close out the regular season at home against Western Carolina on Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m.

The 2024 Ingles SoCon Women's Basketball Tournament will take place at the Harrah's Cherokee Center – Asheville in Asheville, N.C., from March 7-10.
