Men's Golf Takes Sixth at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, OHIO – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team finished its season opening tournament at the Bearcat Invitational in sixth place after posting a two-over-par (286) in the third round on Tuesday.
 
TEAM
  • After finishing rounds one and two in seventh place, the Spartans were able to move up one place to claim sixth place overall out of 17 teams in the tournament.
  • UNCG finished with a five-over-par (857) after three rounds over the two-day tournament (282, 289, 286)
  • The Spartans carded a total of 42 birdies and 172 pars over the tournament.
  • The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe, Chattanooga took first place at the Bearcat Invitational with a 14-under-par (838).
INDIVIDUAL
  • Three Spartans moved up in the third round from their placings in Monday's first and second rounds.
  • Symon Balbin moved up in the third round by recording par (71) on Tuesday to finish with a two-under-par (211), tying for ninth place out of 90 individuals.
  • Randall Hudson jumped up from tied at 45th place to finish tied for 22nd place overall after recording a two-under-par (69) in round three.
  • Hudson recorded 11 total birdies over the tournament with four of those coming in the third round. 
  • Jack Marcotte also moved up from his placing on Monday from being tied at 34th to finish tied for 22nd thanks to recording par (71) in the third round.
  • Marcotte finished tied for seventh in birdies with 12 overall and five in the third round. 
  • Noah Connor finished tied for 53rd after carding a six-over-par (219) over the two-day tournament.
  • Kelvin Hernandez finished the tournament with a 14-over-par (227) and tied for 77th place.
  • Louisville's, Sebastian Moss finished on top of the tournament with a 12-under-par (201).
