Men’s Golf Sixth after Two Rounds of Rod Myers Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team sits in sixth place after two rounds at the Rod Myers Invitational on Sunday at Duke University Golf Course.
 
The Spartans are 11-over-par (587) shooting 296 during round one and 291 during round two. UNCG is leading the invitational with 41 total birdies, while Louisville is second with 35.
 
Senior Randall Hudson is pacing the Spartans with a five-under-par (139) performance. He is tied for second and moved up three spots following round one. In his opening round, Hudson made six birdies and was the lone Spartan under par (-2), with a score of 70. He matched his birdie performance in round two with six more finishing three-under-par (69).
 
Graduate student Jack Marcotte is the next Blue & Gold on the player leaderboard. He is tied for 24th with a three-over-par (147) two-round total. He made par (72) with eight birdies during round one and capped his day one performance with four birdies in round two for a three-over-par (75) scorecard.
 
Hudson and Marcotte are tied for first with 12 birdies each across the individual leaderboard.
 
Freshman Kelvin Hernandez, golfing as an individual, is tied for 29th overall with a four-over-par (148) score. He moved up nine spots on the leaderboard after chipping in par (72) during round two. He totaled seven birdies on the day.
 
Senior Samuel Davidson, in his first invitational wearing the Blue & Gold, improved 14 spots and is tied for 34th. He opened the invitational with a five-over-par (77) performance and made par (72) during round two making four total birdies.

UP NEXT
UNCG will conclude the invitational on Monday with the Spartans paired with Charlotte and NC State teeing off at 8:10 a.m. on hole one. Hernandez will tee off at 10 a.m. on the first hole and Lamb will tee off on hole 10 at 9:55 a.m.
