GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team will begin its 2024 home schedule by hosting Campbell at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m.

The Fighting Camels and Spartans met last season in a thrilling matchup at the UNCG Tennis Courts. Campbell came away with the match, 4-3.
 
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS

• The Spartans dropped their 2024 season opener, 6-1 at UNC Asheville on Sunday at The Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
• Lauren Thomson gained her first collegiate duals win with set scores 6-2, 6-2 over the Bulldogs' Avery Sager.
• UNC Asheville was able to sweep all three doubles courts. Doubles duo Raegan Mitchell and Sydney Bly came up just short, 6-3, while Thomson and Juliana Craft both dropped their doubles matchup, 6-3 as well.
• Olivia Gallagher and Alexandra Dodashev fell to Ari Siegel and Linge Steenkamp in doubles competition, 6-2.

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING CAMELS

• Campbell heads to Greensboro with an 0-2 start to the 2024 season.
• The Fighting Camels began the season with back-to-back matches against ranked power five opponents.
• Campbell fell to No. 1 North Carolina, 7-0, and No. 8 N.C. State, 7-0, both on the road
• The Spartans and Fighting Camels met in the fall of 2023 on two occasions, at the Elon Invitational and then again at the Liberty Invite.
• Campbell will head to Mount Olive on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. following its match at UNCG.

UP NEXT
Following Sunday's match, the Spartans will head west to take on Wyoming on Friday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. and Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 3 at noon. Both matches will be hosted by Wyoming at the Tennis Complex.
