GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team opened up its 2024 home schedule on Sunday afternoon by dropping a 7-0 matchup to Campbell at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.
Despite Campbell taking the doubles point on courts one and two,
Sydney Bly and
Alexandra Dodashevgained the Spartan's sole win of the day after defeating Tasmin Hart and Veronoka Prospalova on court three, 7-5. The doubles victory was Bly's first duals win in her collegiate career.

Raegan Mitchell and
Olivia Gallagher and
Juliana Craft and
Lauren Thomson fell in both of their doubles matches to Camels, 6-3.
Luna Urso competed in an exciting singles play competition that required a third set. Urso earned the first set, 6-4, but Marianna Ossa was able to rally back, 6-0, 6-2 for the win.
On court six,
Juliana Craft competed in a thrilling matchup to Lena Karlovcan. With Craft dropping the first set, 6-1 , she came back to win the second set, 6-3. However, Karlovcan was able to come away with the tiebreaking third set, 6-3 for the singles win.
Thomson finished up singles play first on court four, dropping to Campbell's Lily Chitamber, 6-1, 6-3.
Gallagher finished right in behind Thomson in a very close battle with Ristola Eeva, 6-4, 6-3.
Dodashev finished third on court one after dropping the matchup, 6-1, 7-5.
Ragean Mitchell finished up singles play in a thrilling battle with Tasmin Hart. However, Hart was able to come away with the match, 7-6. 6-3.
UP NEXT
The Spartans will head west to take on Wyoming on Friday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. and Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 3 at noon. Both matches will be hosted by Wyoming at the Tennis Complex.
