GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team will open up the 2024 season at home by hosting Belmont Abbey on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. Following Thursday's match, the Spartans will head to No. 17 Wake Forest on Friday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
- UNCG concluded the 2023 season 4-22 overall and 0-7 in The Southern Conference (SoCon).
- The Spartans dropped its final match of last season to Regular Season Champions Chattanooga at the SoCon Tournament, 5-1.
- UNCG earned its only shutout over Guilford College last season, 7-0.
- Thursday's matchup to Belmont Abbey will be the first meeting between the Crusaders and Spartans in a spring season contest.
- The Spartans and Demon Deacons met last season in Winston-Salem, N.C. Wake Forest took that match, 6-1.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
- Belmont Abbey heads to Greensboro with a 2-0 overall record.
- The Crusaders took down Johnson C. Smith and Mars Hill on the road with both being 6-1 victories.
- Nicholas Cary and Andres Golindano teamed up to win their respective doubles match while also winning in singles play against Mars Hill.
- Following its time at UNCG, Belmont Abbey will face Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Feb. 3.
SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
- No. 17 Wake Forest comes into Friday's match with a 4-1 overall record this spring.
- The Demon Deacons are 1-1 against nationally ranked opponents after dropping their contest to No. 6 Tennessee and claiming a 4-1 victory over No. 20 Florida.
- Wake Forest most recently earned a 4-1 win over Illinois at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C.
- In Wake Forest's win over Illinois, the team punched its ticket to the 2024 ITA National Team Indoor Championship for the third-straight season.

Following these two matches, the Spartans will head to Conway, S.C., to take on Coastal Carolina on Friday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. and Charleston on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. in the Stevens Tennis Complex.
