GREENSBORO, N.C. -Â The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team returns to Greensboro this week to host Queens on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center. The Spartans will then open The Southern Conference (SoCon) schedule in Johnson City, Tenn., facing ETSU at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex on Monday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
- UNCG heads into Saturday with a 2-3 overall record on the spring slate.
- The Spartans most recently earned a 7-0 victory over Radford at the Radford Tennis Complex on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
- The Spartans two wins this season were both in shutouts with the first coming in a win over Belmont Abbey in the 2024 season opener on Thursday, Feb. 1 at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
- John Gabelic leads the Spartans in singles action this season with a 3-1 record.
- Doubles duos Gabelic and David Flisberg and Christopher Johns and Tymofiy Khrystyuk have earned two doubles wins apiece this spring.
- Gabelic was named the SoCon Player of the Week Tuesday, Feb. 20 for his efforts at Charleston the previous Saturday.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS
- Queens comes to Greensboro with a 3-4 overall record.
- The Royals have won their last two matchups with a 4-3 victory at Coastal Carolina and then most recently claiming a 4-3 win over North Carolina Central at home.
- Laurenz Blickwede leads Queens across singles action this season with a 5-2 overall record.
- Flippo Verdese follows closely behind at 4-3.
- In doubles play, Ram Mude and Blickwede and Win Steveker and Connor Enslin stand out with two doubles wins apiece.
SCOUTING THE BUCS
- ETSU will come into Monday's matchup against UNCG with a 3-6 overall record.
- The Bucs have dropped its last three matches, 4-1.
- ETSU most recently fell in a 4-1 contest at UNC Wilmington.
- James Sim leads the way for the Bucs in singles play with a 4-4 overall record.Â
- Dimitri Badra and Alberto Garcia follow in behind Sim with a 3-4 record.
- In doubles action, Adam Nagoudi and Milledge Cossu and Garcia and Pedro Cresseoni have collected two doubles wins apiece.
