Box Score LARAMIE, Wyo. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team fell to Colorado in a neutral site matchup on Saturday, 5-2 at the Wyoming Indoor Tennis Courts to close out its time in Wyoming.
To start the day off, Colorado came away with the doubles point, but across some very close matches.
Ella Olexa and
Sydney Bly fought hard on court three but rounded out a 6-2 loss with Ema Bubalo and Anya Nelson.
Olivia Gallagher and
Lauren Thomson finished up second on court two in a tight 6-4 loss to Mila Stanjovic and Elys Ventura to give the Buffaloes the doubles point.
Arina Babkova and
Alexandra Dodashev competed in a similar face-off with Aya El Sayed and Pia Reber, going the way for UNCG, 6-4.
Heading into singles action, Dodashev finished up first on court two dropping a 6-2, 6-1 matchup to Ventura.
Thomson came just behind Dodashev to finish up second on court four but dropping her match to Betina, 6-3, 6-1.
Babkova competed hard on court one. However, El Sayed, was able to gain 3-6, 7-5, 11-9 win to give Colorado the match clinching point.
Meanwhile, Bly was able to give the Spartans their first point of the day by earning a 7-5, 6-4 win over Puzak on court five.
Olexa competed in an all-out battle with Williow, requiring a third set of action. Olexa was able to claim the match, 6-4, 2-6, 10-4.
Gallagher dropped the final match of the day to Stanojevic on court three after losing the first set, 1-6 and then retiring due to illness in the second set.
