Women's Tennis to Compete Away at ECU & Host UMass This Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team will compete on the road at East Carolina on Thursday, March 21 at 2 p.m. and then return to Greensboro to host UMass on Saturday, March 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.
 
Arina Babkova and Juliana Craft will be honored in a special senior day ceremony prior to Saturday's match against UMass.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
  • UNCG comes into Thursday's match at East Carolina with a 3-12 overall record.
  • The Spartans are coming off a 4-3 win over Western Carolina on Saturday, March 16 at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
  • UNCG's win over the Catamounts was the first win in The Southern Conference (SoCon) for the team since the 2021-22 season.
  • Sydney Bly is leading the Spartans across singles play this season with a 7-4 overall record.
  • Juliana Craft and Lauren Thomson are pacing the team with a 3-9 record in doubles action.

  • East Carolina heads into Thursday's contest with a 7-6 overall record.
  • The Pirates most recently claimed a 4-3 contest over Elon in Greenville, N.C.
  • Kim Auerswald is leading ECU with a 7-3 overall record in singles play.
  • Doubles duo Ines Bachir and Alisha Hussain and Kexaun Zhou and Martina Muzzolon are leading the Pirates with six wins apiece.
  • UNCG came away with its meeting with East Carolina last season in a 4-3 victory in Greensboro.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
  • UMass comes into the week with a 7-4 overall record.
  • The Bears will face Davidson on Thursday, March 21 at 3 p.m. before coming to Greensboro.
  • UMass most recently dropped a 6-1 contest at Brown on Saturday, March 16.
  • Danielle Hack is leading the Bears with a 6-3 overall record in singles play.
  • Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul are pacing UMass in doubles action with an 8-3 overall record.
  • Saturday's meeting between the Bears and Spartans is the first meeting between the two teams in program history.

UNCG will continue at home by hosting Furman on Thursday, March 28 at 1 p.m. and North Carolina A&T on Wednesday, April 3 at 1 p.m.
