GREENSBORO, N.C. – Recent graduate,
Noah Connor of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team claimed first place at the North Carolina Open at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., on Thursday.
Connor held a six-stroke lead heading into the final round of action on Thursday. The Reidsville, N.C., native cruised to a three-shot victory, earning an overall score of 11-under-par (202). Connor recorded rounds of 64-66-72.
Connor is now the reigning champion of the State Open and the Carolina Open, two of the Carolina's PGA's most-prestigious championships.
"I didn't really do anything different than I had the last couple of days," said Connor, who hopes to qualify and play in the U.S. Amateur this summer before turning pro. "I knew where I stood throughout the round, so I wasn't ever worried or anxious about it."
Connor wrapped up his senior season at UNCG with a 71.84 average and recorded a season low of four-under-par (66) at the Bryan National Collegiate.

Andrew Graham, and future Spartan Will Guirdy also competed in the N.C. Open. Davidson finished in a tie for eighth place behind a four-under-par (209). Royalty earned a tie for 20
th, Graham finished in a tie for 24
th place, while Guirdy finished in a tie for 52
nd place.
