Women’s Basketball Visits Presbyterian on Friday

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team will conclude a four-game road stretch by traveling to Clinton, South Carolina, on Friday to face the Presbyterian Blue Hose at 6:00 p.m. in the Templeton Center.
 
Friday's contest will be fifth overall meeting between the Blue Hose and Spartans. Presbyterian leads the series, 3-1. The two teams last met on Nov. 30, 2022, with Presbyterian earning the 67-54 overtime win in Greensboro.

FLEMING GYMNASIUM RENAMED BODFORD ARENA
  • On Saturday, Nov. 8, Fleming Gymnasium, home to UNCG volleyball, women's basketball and men's basketball was renamed to Bodford Arena.
  • This historic moment for the department was made possible through a transformational $2 million gift from the Bodford family.
  • This generous support represents the largest unrestricted gift in the history of UNCG Athletics, as well as the first associated with naming a competitive athletic facility.  
  • The University is already familiar with the Bodford name - the Bodford Family Speed, Strength & Conditioning Center was dedicated in October 2020.  
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
  • UNCG fell in a 64-57 battle with the Auburn Tigers on Monday night in Neville Arena.  
  • Makiah Asidanya led the Spartans with a new career-best 22 points after achieving a game-high of five three-pointers.
  • Asidanya's performance last week led her to be named The Southern Conference (SoCon) Player of the Week in the first round of weekly awards on Tuesday.
  • Rylan Moffitt added a season-best 13 points to round out the double-figure scoring for UNCG at Auburn.
  • Jeni Levine added seven points, while Tasia Johnson and Jaila Lee chipped in six points apiece.
  • UNCG recorded 10 three-pointers in the game.
ABOUT THE SPARTANS
  • The Spartans come into the week 0-3 overall after beginning the season with a trip to California, falling to Stanford, 87-42, and San Francisco, 64-40.  
  • UNCG was voted to finish second with two first-place votes in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • Lee and Asidanya were selected to the SoCon Preseason All-Conference Team after both of their stellar performances last season.
  • The reigning SoCon Coach of the Year, Head Coach Trina Patterson is in her 10th year with the Blue & Gold this season.
  • The 2025-26 roster features five returners and eight newcomers. Four of the newcomers are freshmen, while the other four are transfer students.
  • Asidanya paces the SoCon with 47 points, 10 three-pointers and a 47.6 three-point percentage.
  • She leads the Spartans with a 15.7 points per game average, while Levine rounds out the squad in double-figures with an 11.7 scoring average.
  • Levine is leading the SoCon with 50 field goal attempts this season.
  • Moffitt paces UNCG with a 6.3 rebounds per game average.
  • Lee leads the way in assists with seven dimes this season.
  • UNCG comes into the 2025-26 season after a historic 2024-25 campaign.
  • The Spartans earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament last season for the first time since 1998. The team defeated Chattanooga, 64-57, in The 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championship, earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
  • The team fell to No. 1 USC in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.
 SCOUTING PRESBYTERIAN
  • The Blue Hose were picked to finish eighth in the Big South Preseason Poll.
  • Presbyterian comes into Friday's contest 1-2 overall.
  • The team opened its season with a dominating 113-45 win over Warrern Wilson on Monday, Nov. 3 at home.
  • The Blue Hose have since fallen at Wake Forest, 78-41, and most recently at Elon, 98-48
  • The 2025-26 roster features nine newcomers (four transfers & five freshmen), while the Blue Hose return four from last year's roster.
  • Head Coach Tiffany Sardin is in her second season at the helm of the Presbyterian women's basketball program.
  • The Blue Hose finished the 2024-25 season with a 6-24 overall record and 4-12 mark in the Big South.
  • Allie Skyes is currently second in the Big South with eight three-pointers this season.
  • Skyes and Ja'Cia Cunningham are pacing the team with 10.0 points per game each.
  • Cunningham leads the way with 16 boards.
  • Ore Ogunwolere is the best passer on the team with 11 assists.
