RALEIGH, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team fell in a matchup with the North Carolina State (N.C. State) Wolfpack on Monday afternoon, 4-1, at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. John Gabelicnotched UNCG's first point and set win of the 2026 season.
The Wolfpack secured the doubles point after notching two-of-three doubles games with scores of 5-1 and 6-1. Jules Leroux and Darius Pop defeated Tymofiy Khrystyuk and Hector Nissen on court one, 6-1. Charlie Camus and William Manning secured the crucial second doubles point against William Elmers and Eric Lindemann on court two, 5-1. The third doubles match between Cody Benton and Ainius Sabaliauskas against Gabelic and Devon Moskowitz was unfinished on court three with a score of 3-2 favoring the Wolfpack when it ended.
N.C. State continued to expand upon its advantage with Camus defeating Elmers on court four, 6-1, 6-2. However, Gabelic secured the Spartans' first point of the season with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Sabaliauskas on court two. Leroux bested
Khrystyuk in a close, 6-4, 6-3, match on court one. Then 85th best player in the nation William Manning defeated Moskowitz, 6-3, 6-1 on court three to secure the match for the Wolfpack, 4-1.
