GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team is ranked No. 26 in the first release of SCOREBOARD Powered by Clippd.

The Spartans earn their ranking following an impressive start to the 2026-27 season with a 31-1-0 record. UNCG opened the season with two team titles, first winning its own Bryan National Collegiate from Sept. 12-13 and then taking the crown at the 16th Annual Rod Myers Invitational, hosted by Duke, from Sept. 21-22. The Blue & Gold were the runners-up at the seventh Blessings Collegiate Invitational that took place from Oct. 3-5.

The win at the Bryan National Collegiate, held at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, North Carolina, was the third time out of four years that the Spartans won the team title (2026, 2024, 2023). UNCG was the only team to finish under-par each round, carding scores of 276-281-281 totaling 26-under-par (838) overall. The Spartans had five of their nine golfers finish in the top 10 of the player leaderboard.

At the Rod Myers Invitational, that was shortened to two rounds at Duke University Golf Club, UNCG won with a 20-under-par (556) performance. During both rounds, four of the Spartans' six golfers had under-par rounds.

ETSU is the highest Southern Conference (SoCon) foe, ranking eighth on the poll. Chattanooga follows the Spartans, sitting at 49th overall.

B.J. Boyce leads the way for UNCG's individuals in the rankings with a 17th place mark. ETSU's Erik Tjarnberg is the highest SoCon individual, sitting 13th overall. Boyce was the runner-up at UNCG's Bryan National Collegiate, firing rounds of 67-68-71 for a total of 10-under-par (206). He then tied for 14th place at the Rod Myers Invitational with rounds of 68-73, totaling three-under-par (141).

Most recently, he won his first-collegiate title at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational with a five-under-par (211) and rounds of 71-76-64. His eight-under-par (64) round three score was one stroke off the Blessings Collegiate Invitational low round individual score set by Algot Kleen from LSU in 2024, a nine-under-par (63), also in round three.

Kelvin Hernandez is 66th overall in the rankings following three top 10 finishes this season so far. He started with a fifth-place finish at the Bryan National Collegiate, firing rounds of 67-67-73 totaling a nine-under-par (207). During the Rod Myers Invitational, Hernandez was the runner up with a seven-under-par (137) performance with rounds of 70-67. He then carded rounds of 69-78-73 for a four-over-par (220) total at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, tying for 10th place.
