Ciara Harris brought UNCG back within one at 3:51, 8-7. However, Wofford closed out the first frame with an 8-2 run to hold a 17-9 lead going to the break.
The second quarter was mostly even, but Wofford held the slight scoring advantage, 12-10. With the Terriers in control 27-15, a bucket apiece from Asidanya and Simpson cut UNCG's deficit to eight with 53 seconds on the clock, 27-19. However, Wofford's Gabby Mundy secured the final basket of the half to give the Terriers a 10-point cushion in the locker room, 29-19.
Wofford continued its momentum in the third stanza, starting things off with five-straight points, 34-19. The Spartans pieced together a 4-0 run to come back within 11 at 7:15, 34-23.
