Elon Defeats Men's Tennis, 6-1

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team lost against Triad rival Elon, 6-1, at Piedmont Tennis Center on Sunday in Greensboro. William Elmers secured the only point for the Spartans as he defeated Nicola Parichkov, 6-2, 6-1, for his first win of the 2026 spring season.  

The senior tag team duo of Devon Moskowitz and John Gabelic took down Elon's top pairing of Velkjo Krstkic and Parichkov, 6-4, to become 2-1 on the season in doubles matches. However, Eric Lindemann and Hector Nissen fell to Jack Curtis and Rafael Ymer on court two, 4-6, to set up the deciding match on court three. Andrew Black and William Elmers battled Nick Fisk and Alonso Roca and pushed them to an extra point but were taken down, 5-7, for the Phoenix to capture the doubles point.  

Gabelic lost to Krstkic, 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, on court one. Court two saw Moskowitz falling to Ymer, 3-6,2-6. Elmers battled back on court three to take a point against Parichkov, 6-2,6-1, to put the score 3-1 in favor of Elon. However, the Spartans were unable to match a comeback as Nissen lost on court four to Curtis, 3-6, 1-6. Sammy Presser took Elon's Charles Pilet to three sets but fell in the tiebreaker set, 6-7 (1-3), 6-3, 7-7 (4-6). Lindemann on court six was bested by Oskar Antinheimo, 4-6, 3-6, to bring the final score to 6-1.
