SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  Tymofiy Khrystyuk of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team has been named The Southern Conference (SoCon) Player of the Week for the first time of his career, as announced by the league office Tuesday. This is the first SoCon Player of the Week nod for Khrystyuk and first for the program since John Gabelic won the honor in 2024.  
 
Khrystyuk downed the Preseason SoCon Player of the Year and No. 1 singles player of ETSU Oscar Martinez, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, on court one on Wednesday. The senior came back on Sunday and dispatched Wofford's No. 1 Parker Mariencheck, 6-4, 7-6, on court one in the 4-3 match victory.  
 
The Poltava, Ukraine, native is 6-3 in singles matches this season with an unbeaten 4-0 record in SoCon singles matches. The senior boasts 32 wins in his spring collegiate career and was named to the All-SoCon Second Team in the 2024-25 season and All-SoCon First Team in 2023-24. 
 
"It's good to be named SoCon Player of the Week," said Khrystyuk. "Shows the work we do is in the right direction. We are all going to keep it up and try to win another one!"
