GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team will host The Southern Conference (SoCon) opponent Furman on Saturday and Big South foe Presbyterian on Sunday. Both matches are set for a 1:00 p.m. start at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
Sunday's match will be Senior Day, where
Ella Olexa will be honored for her hard work and dedication to the UNCG women's tennis program prior to match time.
Furman took both meetings with UNCG last season. The Paladins first defeated the Spartans in the regular season, 7-0, in Greenville on Feb. 27, 2025. Furman also collected the 4-0 win in the SoCon Tournament last year on April 17, 2025.
The Spartans and Blue Hose last met on Jan. 29, 2023, with UNCG snagging the 5-1 victory in Greensboro.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
- UNCG comes into Sunday's contest 1-12 overall and 0-2 in SoCon action.
- The Spartans most recently fell in a 5-2 battle with the Chattanooga Mocs on Sunday at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
- Kayley Bushnell and Sofia Somoano collected the two points for the Spartans in the match in singles play.
- UNCG secured its first win of the season, shutting out Converse, 7-0, on March 1, at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
- The team opened the SoCon slate on Feb. 28, falling to ETSU, 6-1, at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
- Bushnell, Somoano, Ivet Sala-Sánchez, Sophia Cedeno and Sara Kostic have all picked up their first career wins this season.
- Bushnell is pacing the Spartans with four singles wins this season.
- Kostic, Sala-Sánchez and Somoano are following closely behind with three wins each.
- Doubles teams Cedeno & Kostic and Sala-Sánchez & Bushnell are leading the Spartans with two doubles wins each.

- Lauren Thomson finished on top for the Spartans in singles for the second consecutive year after tallying eight wins on the 2025 campaign.

SCOUTING THE PALADINS
- Furman comes to Greensboro 9-4 overall and 1-0 in SoCon play.
- The Paladins just picked up their first SoCon win of the season in a 7-0 victory over Western Carolina on Thursday in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
- Lillie Murphy is pacing the team with a 9-3 overall record in singles this season.
- Blanca Ceroni is following closely behind with a 7-3 mark.
- Three different doubles teams have recorded five wins apiece for the Paladins this year.
- Elle Warren is the best overall doubles player with 10 wins.
- Michelle Dasso is in her fourth season as the Furman head women's tennis coach.
- Furman went a staggering 21-4 and 7-0 in SoCon play last season.
- Last year's team won the 2025 SoCon Championships, but fell to No. 21 UCF in the NCAA Championship, 4-1.
SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE
- Presbyterian currently stands 6-8 overall and 2-0 in the Big South.
- The Blue Hose will face North Carolina Central on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Durham, North Carolina, before coming to Greensboro on Sunday.
- Presbyterian most recently claimed a 4-3 battle with NJIT on Thursday in Clinton, South Carolina.
- Grace Katzman, Ladina Bruhin, Mary Ellen Longmire and Luciana Parrilli are all pacing the Blue Hose with five singles wins each this season.
- Longmire and Katzman are the best doubles duo with a 6-1 mark.
- The Blue Hose are looking for their first road win as the team is 0-5 away and 6-2 at home this season.
- Head Coach Joele Roberts is in his seventh season at the helm of the Presbyterian women's tennis program.
- Presbyterian wrapped up the 2024-25 season 6-17 overall and 2-3 in the Big South.
