Women’s Tennis Heads to Wofford for SoCon Showdown

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team will continue The Southern Conference (SoCon) slate by taking on the Wofford Terriers on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Reeves Tennis Center.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
  • UNCG comes into Thursday's matchup 2-13 overall and 0-3 in SoCon action.
  • The Spartans went 1-1 at home last weekend after falling to Furman, 7-0, on Saturday, but earning a 4-3 win over Presbyterian on Sunday.
  • Kayley Bushnell is pacing the Spartans with a 5-7 singles record.
  • Ivet Sala-Sánchez is following closely behind with four singles wins this season.
  • Bushnell & Sala-Sánchez and Sophia Cedeno & Sara Kostic are the leading doubles teams with two wins each.
  • Cedeno leads the team overall in doubles with three wins.
  • UNCG secured its first win of the season, shutting out Converse, 7-0, on March 1, at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
  • The team opened the SoCon slate on Feb. 28, falling to ETSU, 6-1, at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
  • UNCG competed in four tournaments in the 2025 fall slate.
  • The Spartans concluded the 2025 regular season 3-18 overall and 0-7 in the SoCon.
  • Lauren Thomson finished on top for the Spartans in singles for the second consecutive year after tallying eight wins on the 2025 campaign. 
  • Sydney Bly led the team last season with nine total doubles wins.
  • Head Coach Mat Iandolo is in his second season at the helm of the UNCG women's tennis program.
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
  • Wofford comes into the week 7-6 overall and 0-2 in the SoCon.
  • The Terriers most recently fell at Chattanooga on Saturday, 7-0.
  • Quinn Bernthal and Katie Godfree are pacing the Terriers with seven singles wins apiece.
  • Doubles duos Bernthal & Grace Agster and Bernthal & Godfree are pacing the team with five doubles wins apiece.
  • Bernthal leads doubles overall with a 10-1 record.
  • Wofford concluded the 2025 season 17-4 overall and 5-2 in the SoCon.
  • Head Coach Krissy Hall is in her 14th season at the helm of the Wofford women's tennis program.
