GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team crushed Davidson, 7-0, at UNCG Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon. With this most recent win, the Spartans extend their win streak to four, which is the longest since 2014 when UNCG rattled off seven in a row to end the season.
The Spartans secured the first point of the day after collecting two-of-three doubles matches.
Devon Moskowitz and
John Gabelic got the day started with a gutsy 7-6 win over SebastionCarpio Moran and Davide Procacci on court one. However, Goyo Hidalgo and Kai Villagomez evened up the doubles matches with a 6-4 victory over
William Elmers and
Hector Nissen. UNCG rallied on court three as
Tymofiy Khrystyuk and
Eric Lindemann secured the victory, and the doubles point, over Connor Cole and Daniel Cowan Jr, 6-4, on court three.
Singles saw the Spartans continue their torrid streak as Moskowitz put away Villagomez, 6-3, 6-2, on court three for a 2-0 advantage.
Hector Nissen followed closely behind with a win over Carpio Moran, 6-4, 6-2, on court four.
William Elmers secured the match victory for UNCG with a 7-6, 6-4, win over Cole on court five. Khrystyuk dispatched Hildago, 6-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8), on court one and Gabelic secured his match over Procacci, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, on court two. Finally,
Andrew Black took the win over Charlie Ratliff, 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7), on court five to end the match in the 7-0 win.
