SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team
Tymofiy Khrystyuk and
Hector Nissen both earned spots on The Southern Conference (SoCon) postseason awards list, announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Khrystyuk, a Poltava, Ukraine native, owned a 10-7 record in singles this season, which included an impressive 5-1 mark in conference play. Additionally, Khrystyuk had a 9-9 overall record in doubles this season. He earned six wins alongside
Eric Lindemann with the other three coming alongside
Lars Frafjord. This is Khrystyuk's third All-SoCon nomination of his career as he leaves UNCG with 28 singles wins and 23 doubles victories. His highlight of the season was when Khrystyuk defeated the reigning two-time SoCon Player of the Year,Oscar Martinez, in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, on March 11.
Nissen earned the All-SoCon Freshman team nomination after going 10-9 in singles matches with a 2-4 record in the SoCon. The Copenhagen, Denmark, native also captured six victories in doubles matches with duos partner
William Elmers. This is the first All-Freshman team selection for UNCG Men's Tennis since 2024 when Tejas Walls earned the nod.
