Devon Moskowitz gutted out the match deciding win on court three.
The Spartans secured the first point of the day after collecting both doubles matches. Moskowitz and
John Gabelic started off the day securing the 6-1 win over Jip Mens and Cian Ingles on court one. Eric L
indemann and
Tymofiy Khrystyuk secured the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over Trevor Grey and Leo Kolbe on court three. The third doubles match was not continued.
Singles saw the Bulldogs rally back as Harrison Cooper bested
William Elmers, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, on court five. Asheville took the lead as Martin Fuks defeated
Sammy Presser, 6-2, 6-1, on court six. UNCG's
Hector Nissen knotted up the score at two apiece with his 6-3, 6-3, win over Trevor Grey. The Bulldogs retook the lead as Ingles felled Gabelic, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. However, the Spartans responded with Khrystyuk defeating Mens, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, on court one. With the score tied at three, all eyes turned to court three as Moskowitz battled Daniel Trevors-Key. The Alpharetta, Georgia native dug deep fighting off three match points for the 5-7, 7-6, 6-3, win for the 4-3 match win.
