CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's & women's track teams completed the final day of The Southern Conference (SoCon) Track & Field Championships on Tuesday at Catamount Athletic Complex.
Senior
Luke Ward won the 5000-meter run with a personal best time of 14:40.99. This was the Spartans' first-ever men's 5000-meter individual title and first championship since Dylan Christopher won the 10,000-meter run in 2022 and 2023.
After
Camryn Oates earned All-Freshman honors on Monday,
Emery Anderson (400m),
Jeremiah Jones (800m), Luke Huehn (5000m) and
Ayzia Jefferson (100m & 200m) all also won postseason accolades, bringing the Spartans' total to six awards this week.
The men's 4x400m relay team finished fourth overall with a new school record time of 3:18.66, breaking their previous mark of 3:20.86 at the Bob Davidson Memorial. The quartet included
Emery Anderson,
Samuel Barnard,
Jeremiah Jones and
Glodi Mvovi.
The women's 4x400m relay team finished eighth overall with a new school record time of 4:00.85, breaking their previous mark of 4:01.05 at the VertKlasse Meeting. The quartet included
Alana Hill,
Ayzia Jefferson,
Lily Butler and
Joelle Tonne.
Two of the four Spartans in the 1500-meter run clocked in personal best times, including
Khalid Abdullahi (5
th/3:47.90) and
Logan Ruffner (7
th/3:54.58), who finished in the top 10. Abdullahi's time is now second in the UNCG record book sitting behind Paul Chelimo's time of 3:40.25 from 2012.
Hailey Meyers earned a fourth-place finish out of 28 competitors in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:33.27.

Those that will qualify will go on to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East Region Championships set for May 28-31 in Jacksonville, Florida.
