GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) Intercollegiate Athletic Department recently announced the hiring of Cameron George as associate athletic director for external operations.

"Adding Cam is a significant step forward for our department," stated Executive Associate Athletic Director for External Operations Mike Roach. "His expertise and collaborative approach will strengthen our efforts across many areas. I am excited to see the impact Cam will have."

George will provide leadership for the Spartans' external units, overseeing ticket operations, marketing and fan engagement, corporate sponsorships, strategic communications and video production.

George comes to UNCG from Charlotte, where he spent 11 years on staff, most recently as director of digital marketing & revenue generation. In that role, George led a digital marketing operation that generated $2.1 million in ticket revenue and donations during the 2025-26 season across paid digital, email and text messaging.

At Charlotte, George directed the football season ticket strategy, setting program records in renewals and ticket revenue and producing the first season ticket sellout in program history in 2025. He also led marketing and revenue strategy for the highest-grossing men's basketball game in program history, resulting in the program's first sellout in a decade, and implemented dynamic pricing and mass text messaging platforms that created new revenue channels for the department. As athletics chair of the Niner Nation Gives campaign, George led three consecutive record-breaking years for dollars raised and gifts received, including a record $2.72 million in 2026.

He joined the Charlotte staff in 2015 and previously served as associate director of development & ticket operations, assistant director of ticket operations and assistant ticket manager.

A native of Goldsboro, North Carolina, George graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts in history and earned a Master of Arts in sport management from Wingate University. He was a four-year letter winner in track & field at Charlotte, competing in the pole vault and decathlon on teams that won three Atlantic 10 outdoor championships and two indoor championships.

George and his wife Rachel have one son, Oakley, and a labradoodle, Jax.
