GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team and Head Coach
Trina Patterson have announced their 2026-27 season schedule.
"The 2026-27 schedule will bring new experiences and we are thrilled to compete in the inaugural Southern Conference (SoCon)/Big South Challenge," said Patterson. "Our non-conference schedule also includes road games at Richmond, Virginia Tech and Clemson, all who received NCAA Tournament invitations last season.
With the addition of Tennessee Tech, the SoCon schedule increases to 16 games and allows for different travel alignments. Finally, our goal is to continue making Bodford Arena one of the toughest places to play. We appreciate the support and energy our crowd brings each game."
Patterson returns for her 11
th season at the helm of the UNCG women's basketball team, leading the Spartans to 160 victories during her time. The three-time SoCon Coach of the Year, Patterson saw her winningest season as a head coach in the 2024-25 season, leading UNCG to a 25-7 overall record and its second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Spartans concluded the 2025-26 season 14-16 overall and 4-10 in the SoCon.
Among the returners for the Spartans, includes
Leyla Minor,
Kristina Rakotobe,
Joelle Davis and
Salimata Traore. The 2026-27 squad will feature 11 newcomers, including eight freshmen and three transfers.

QUICK FACTS
- 30 regular season games: 16 home & 14 away.
- All home games will be in Bodford Arena for the 2026-27 season.
- The Spartans will begin the season with back-to-back home games. First, UNCG will host Presbyterian on Monday, Nov. 2 and then Columbia College on Thursday, Nov. 5 inside Bodford Arena.
- The Blue & Gold will begin the 2026-27 road slate at Clemson on Sunday, Nov. 8.
- The Spartans will face four teams in their non-conference schedule that made an appearance in the 2026 NCAA Tournament with Clemson, Virginia Tech, Richmond and SoCon foe Samford.
- Non-Conference breakdown: Big South (5), ACC (2), AAC (2), A10 (1), MEAC (1), NCCAA (1), CAA (1), Continental Athletic Conference (1).
- UNCG's game against Longwood on Wednesday, Dec. 2 in Bodford Arena and its matchup at UNC Asheville on Tuesday, Jan. 12 will be a part of the SoCon/Big South Challenge.
- The Spartans will open the SoCon slate on Tuesday, Dec. 29 against the Furman Paladins in Greensboro, North Carolina.
- The 2026-27 regular season will be concluded in Cookeville, Tennessee, with new conference member Tennessee Tech.
- The 2027 SoCon Tournament will be held from March 4-7 in Asheville, North Carolina, at the Harrah's Cherokee Center.
