GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team and Head Coach Jeff Trivette have announced the schedule for the 2026-27 season.
 
"We have a very young team this season," said Trivette. "Our main focus on and off the court is growth and development. Our schedule for the fall and the spring is intentionally built to push our players, while allowing them to learn and develop into top-level student-athletes. We are very excited to have a team that is full of potential and hungry to realize that potential."
 
The Spartans finished the 2026 season 7-15 overall and 2-5 in The Southern Conference (SoCon). Last season was concluded with a 4-3 battle against No. 3 Chattanooga in the SoCon Quarterfinals. Among the Spartan's returners includes is All-SoCon selection Hector Nissen.

QUICK FACTS

• The fall schedule will consist of five tournaments: two at home & three away.
• UNCG will host the Spartan Fall Invitational from Sept. 11-13 and the UNCG Fall Invitational from Oct. 16-18 at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
• The Spartans will travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee, from Oct. 2-4 for the SoCon Masters Qualifier. The team will then take on the ITA Regionals from Oct. 8-12 in Columbia, South Carolina.
• The fall slate will be concluded in Naples, Florida, from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 at the Florida Gulf Coast Invite.
• The 2027 spring campaign will feature 22 regular season matches: 12 home & 10 away.
• UNCG will face nine opponents in the 2027 regular season that earned a spot in the 2026 NCAA Tournament including, NC State, Richmond, Elon, SoCon foe Samford and new SoCon member Tennessee Tech.
• UNCG will open its spring schedule with a couple of ACC matches, first at NC State on Jan. 12 and then at Virginia Tech on Jan. 18.
• The team will then travel to face the Dukes of James Madison on Jan. 23.
• The spring home slate with begin with USC-Sumter on Jan. 30, beginning a four-match homestand.
• The Blue & Gold will begin the SoCon slate at home by welcoming The Citadel on Feb. 13.
• The 2027 regular season will be concluded at home with the team hosting Chattanooga on April 17.
• The 2027 SoCon Tournament will be held from April 22-24 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
