CARY, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's cross country team placed eighth among 16 teams in the 5K at the adidas Cross Country Challenge at the WakeMed Soccer Park Cross Country Course. It was the squad's second meet of the season, coming after the Spartans had opened the season with the 4K at the Elon Friday Night Lights Meet.

UNCG finished with 215 points in a stacked field, led by hosts NC State (21) and South Carolina (40). Liberty (124), Richmond (143), and High Point (149) rounded out the top five finishers in Cary on Friday night.

Junior Hailey Meyers was the top finisher for the Spartan women for the second straight meet, crossing the line 25th with a time of 17:32.9. Rounding out the top three for UNCG this week were Keira Mansure (66th, 18:58.0) and Camryn Oates (69th, 19:06.1).

Tenley Douglass (19:15.4) and Erica Rash (19:18.3) placed back-to-back in 79th and 80th, respectively, to complete the top five for the Blue & Gold. Freshman Olivia Arnold became the sixth Spartan to book a top-100 finish by crossing the line in 90th at 19:37.2.

Joelle Tonne (105th, 20:09.1), Emily Graff (131st, 22:04.7), Christiana Rodriguez (132nd, 22:08.7) and Sasha Helmer (134th, 22:20.8) completed the UNCG lineup. Rodriguez' race tonight was her first as a Spartan.
