DURHAM, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team secured its second team title this season by placing first out of 13 teams at the 16^th Annual Rod Myers Invitational at the two-day, two-round Duke University Golf Club, hosted by the Blue Devils.
 
The invitational was shortened to two rounds due to weather.
 
TEAM

• UNCG posted a 10-under-par (278) round one score on Monday, before duplicating that score for a team total of 20-under-par (556).  
• The Spartans finished ahead of The Southern Conference (SoCon) foes Furman, who placed tied for seventh and was two-under-par (579) and Wofford who sat tied for 10^th with its three-over-par (579).
• Second place UNCW finished five strokes behind the Spartans with a 15-under-par (561) performance.
• UNCG tied for first with a 3.99 average in par fours, tied for second with a 3.00 average in par threes and second with a 4.66 average in par fives.

 
INDIVIDUAL

• During both rounds, four of UNCG's six golfers had under-par rounds.
• Following Kelvin Hernandez' two-under-par (70) round one performance, the senior posted a five-under-par (67) to move up seven spots and finish as the runner up.
• Vijay Powell of George Mason took home the individual title with a 10-under-par (134).
• Jake Lewis fired rounds of 69-69 for a six-under-par (138), tying for third out of 81 competitors.
• B.J. Boyce tied for 14^th place with his rounds of 68-73 totaling three-under-par (141).
• Reece Sanders also tied for 14^th with his scores of 71-70, combining for a three-under-par (141).
• Will Guidry and Liam Percy, who played as an individual, tied for 49^th place with their four-over-par (148).
