Appeared and started in all 59 games…recorded 178 total at bats…gave the Spartans 47 runs and 58 hits on the season…finished the season with a .326 batting average…posted a game high of three hits and three runs against Mercer on April 29…tallied six total stolen bases.
2021 (Freshman)
Played in and started all 43 games … Finished the season with a .301 batting average, one of six UNCG players to hit above .300 … She had 37 hits and scored 27 rebounds … Had five doubles, two home runs, one triple, and drove in 17 runs … Had a .407 slugging percentage … Was third on the Spartans with nine multi-hit games … Had a season best six game hitting streak from May 2-14 … Hit first career home run against North Carolina A&T on Feb. 27 … Also homered against Chattanooga on April 17 … Had two hits in NCAA Tournament debut against Duke on May 21 … Drove in four runs against Radford on March 24 … Had two doubles in a road win at Charlotte on April 28 … She helped UNCG win the SoCon regular season and postseason tournament championships … The Spartans made an appearance in the Athens Region of the NCAA Tournament … UNCG set a single season program record with 90 home runs … The Spartans won a season-high eight consecutive games during two different points in the season.
Prior to UNCG: Maxwell attended Kellam (Va.) High School in Virginia Beach, where she has set school records including being named Offensive Player of the Year three times. The shortstop last year was tabbed an All-State selection while earning All-Region and All-Hampton Roads honors every year of her time in high school to date. Additionally, she was named an All-Conference selection during her freshman year. Her Black Knights claimed the 2017 conference title before finishing third in the Virginia state tournament. This past season, Maxwell helped lead her team to a Regional Championship. She is also a three-time honor roll selection.
