Macy Jones

Macy Jones

Macy Jones is in her second season at UNCG under head coach Janelle Breneman in 2018, serving as a volunteer assistant coach. Prior to coming to the Gate City, Jones was a stand out performer for four years at Penn State.

Jones was a First Team All-Big Ten selection in 2016 as well as NFCA First Team All-Great Lakes Region. She was twice named the team MVP for Penn State (2015, 2016) and was academic all-conference selection. In 2015 Jones received the Big Ten Sportsmanship award and the S.T.A.T.E.R. Award.

She got a taste for coaching as a counselor at Longwood and Penn State Universities softball camps when she instructed skills in softball, leadership and communication to over 100 girls ages 7-18. In her spare time, Jones was a private softball instructor during her college years where she worked with youth softball players teaching them pitching, hitting, infield and outfield skills.

Jones was a member of the Athletic Director's Leadership Institute while at PSU. Student-Athletes are selected based on shown leadership qualities in all aspects of academics and athletics. As a member of the Institute she collaborated with other student-athletes and staff in leadership positions to further develop her leadership skills.

Jones graduated with her B.S. in Energy, Business and Finance with a minor in Economics from Penn State University in May 2016.
