Biography

At UNCG

Sophomore Season (2007-08):

Earned all-SoCon honors in doubles alongside Alejandra Guerra... went 18-16 in singles competition, playing primarily No. 2 singles... went 11-10 during the spring in singles play, 9-10 at No. 2 and 2-0 at No. 1... went 21-7 in doubles play with Guerra at No. 1 and 22-10 overall in doubles.


Freshman season (2006-07):

Completed the 2006-07 season with a 15-21 overall record, 4-5 in the SoCon...played the No. 1 spot for most of the season...finished 3-1 at the UNC Wilmington Invitational defeating Tiffany Tucker of Methodist College (6-0, 7-6), Kayla Schwenk of UNC Wilmington (6-3, 6-2), and Charlotte’s Ali Piacente (2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (16-14))...earned All-Conference honors in both singles and doubles...member of the academic honor roll and Dean’s list at UNCG.

 

Before UNCG:

Won the 18 and under ITF event in St. Lucia and was runner-up in doubles in 2006...named Most Valuable Player for Jamaica four times...participated in the US Open Juniors...represented Jamaica in the Fed Cup...will represent Jamaica in the CAC Games in Columbia...highest ITF world ranking was 295...received two letters in tennis from the University of Miami Online High School.

 

Personal:

Arielle Amanda VonStrolley...born October 23, 1987 in Miami, FL...daughter of Arthur VonStrolley and Sharon VonStrolley...attended NC State for the 2005-06 school year but did not play tennis...also recruited by Cal Poly, NC State, Temple, Louisville and Coastal Carolina...sports medicine/pre-med major.
