Davis Fields joined UNC Greensboro in August 2026 as a strategic communications coordinator, where he currently oversees men's soccer and baseball.
Fields arrives in Greensboro following two years at UNC Charlotte, where in 2025 he oversaw external communications for women's soccer, women's lacrosse and both cross country and track & field. Originally joining the 49ers in August 2024, Fields originally spent a year as an athletic foundation assistant and oversaw ticketing, event operations and alumni relations.
A native of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Fields graduated from Catawba College with bachelor’s degrees in both sport management and communications along with a minor in business management in May of 2023. He would go on to complete a master’s degree in sport management at Catawba in May of 2025.
While at Catawba, Fields spent five years working within athletic communications first as a work study and eventually as a communications assistant in 2023-24, primarily operating in gameday operations and digital content. In his lone year as an assistant, Catawba’s Athletic Communications staff was tabbed as the 2023-24 South Atlantic Conference Media Relations Staff of the Year, and the year prior Fields was named the David Setzer Award winner for Most Outstanding Sports Information Assistant.
He also had stops at Duke (2022, 2023) and USA Baseball (2024), where he served as an athletic communications intern primarily responsible for digital content creation. While with USA Baseball, Fields served as the press officer for the Collegiate National Team’s Summer League Tour side and the National Team Development Program.
Fields currently resides in Jamestown.
