Heather Colleran joined the Spartans as a sports dietitian in January 2026.
Colleran is a licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with a Ph.D. in Nutrition. She is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Colleran spent the past 14 years with Celtic Sports Nutrition (formerly HLC Sports Nutrition), where she provided individualized and team-based sports nutrition counseling for NCAA Division I student-athletes across a wide range of sports. During her time with Celtic Sports Nutrition, she worked with several athletic departments throughout the Triad, including High Point, Elon and North Carolina A&T.
Since 2016, Colleran has also served as an associate professor and interim dietetics program director at North Carolina A&T. While with the Aggies, she developed an ACEND-accredited dietetics program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. She also developed and taught undergraduate courses in sports nutrition, nutrition across the lifespan, advanced medical nutrition therapy and research methods.
Colleran earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from UNC Wilmington in 1997 and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from UMass Boston in 2003. She completed her dietetic internship at UNCG in 2008 before earning her Ph.D. in Nutrition from UNCG in 2010.
