Lynch brings eight years of collegiate coaching experience and an extensive background in elite-level softball to the UNCG softball program in September 2026.
Lynch spent the past three seasons at Elon University, where he helped lead the Phoenix to the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament Championship, the first conference tournament title in program history. At Elon, he worked primarily with pitchers and hitters, assisted with the defensive development of infielders and outfielders and contributed to recruiting efforts.
Prior to Elon, Lynch served five seasons as an assistant coach at Central Methodist University. He helped guide the Eagles to conference tournament titles in 2022 and 2023 and an appearance in the 2023 NAIA Softball World Series. His responsibilities included coaching pitchers, hitters and defensive players, while working with varsity and reserve teams.
Lynch began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Missouri, where he assisted with daily player development.
An accomplished player, Lynch has been a member of the USA Men’s National Fastpitch Softball Team since 2013. He earned a gold medal and All-World Team honors at the 2025 World Games, along with bronze medals at the 2025 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup and the 2022 WBSC World Championship. He also helped the United States earn silver at the 2019 Pan American Games and was a member of the 2021 ISC World Championship team.
Lynch earned a bachelor’s degree in health science from the University of Missouri in 2016 and a master’s degree in education and counseling psychology, with an emphasis on positive coaching and athletic leadership, from Missouri in 2018.
