Nick Hodgman joined UNCG as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in July of 2025.
Hodgman comes to UNCG after serving as the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Training & Head Athletic Trainer for Fairleigh Dickison University (FDU) since 2019. Hodgman began his tenure at FDU in 2014, starting as Assistant Athletic Trainer for his first five years in Teaneck, New Jersey.
While with the Knights, Hodgman provided comprehensive care to athletes across multiple sports, including men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball, ensuring health and safety through preventative programs, rehabilitation and emergency care. In addition, he developed and executed injury prevention programs, reducing overall injury rates and contributing to higher team performance levels.
After being promoted to Head Athletic Trainer, Hodgman handled administrative responsibilities, including managing a departmental budget and leading recruitment, training and professional development of athletic training staff. He gained opportunity to represent FDU Athletics at national and regional events, establishing relationships with industry leaders to stay ahead of trends in sports medicine and management.
Hodgman began his career as an Athletic Training Intern for the New York Yankees AA Affiliate Trenton Thunder in Trenton, New Jersey. While with the Thunder, he worked alongside the head athletic trainer to develop rehabilitation and injury prevention exercise programs.
Hodgman carries his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification and earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Athletic Training from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey in 2013. He would go on to achieve to master’s degrees from FDU, Master of Business Administration in Accounting in 2020 and Master’s in Sports Administration in 2023.
