Ronnie Harris II joined the UNCG men's basketball program in July 2026 as general manager/assistant coach.
With more than 10 years of experience across athletics, venture capital, technology banking and nonprofit leadership, Harris II brings a unique blend of business strategy, relationship management and team development.
Prior to joining UNCG, Harris II spent nearly eight years with Silicon Valley Bank, where he partnered with venture-backed technology companies, founders and investors. He played a key role in helping structure more than $200 million in venture debt transactions while building strategic partnerships throughout the innovation ecosystem. Harris II also has experience in real estate investment and advisory.
As the founder and CEO of Thoreau Giving, Harris II launched the nonprofit three years ago expand housing stability and opportunities for at-risk families. Through corporate partnerships, fundraising events and community engagement, the organization has raised more than $250,000 to advance its mission.
Harris II has coached and mentored youth athletes through programs including the YIP Camp, personal training and the Andrus and Koa Peat Basketball & Football Camps.
A former Division I football standout and team captain at Stanford University, Harris II helped lead the Cardinal to three PAC-12 Championships and two Rose Bowl victories. He earned All-PAC-12 and Academic All-PAC-12 honors during his collegiate career.
Harris II earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Communication from Stanford.
