Walter Hernandez began working in the UNCG Athletic Department as the Creative Content Manager in January 2025.
Hernandez comes to the Spartans after working two years (2022-24) with Charlotte Athletics as a Creative Video Assistant, where he assisted with content creation in the form of motion graphics, animations and other video projects. While working with the 49ers, Hernandez also assisted with video production shoots by setting up cameras, lights, backdrops and audio equipment.
Prior to working in Charlotte, Hernandez spent the 2021-22 season as a member of the High Point Rockers production crew. There he operated various equipment for gameday productions, such as Daktronics elements, the scoreboard, three-play system and cameras. When needed, he would fill the role of Technical Director, keeping in contact with the baseball team’s general manager to ensure events were going according to schedule in addition to sorting through any last-minute changes.
Hernandez got his start working at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina, where he was also working towards earning his bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and electronic media that he completed in 2019. There he worked as a Social Media Manager (2016-19) and Videographer Assistant (2016-18) after starting out as a Live Stream Technician in 2014.
