Charleston, SC --- University of North Carolina Greensboro beat The Citadel in three games, 30-20, 30-25, 30-22, Sunday afternoon in Charleston, SC. This match marks the first Southern Conference win for the Spartans who know stand at 3-17 and 1-7 in the SoCon. The Bulldogs are 4-10 and 0-7 in conference play.

The Spartans were led by outside hitter LaJean Morrow with 11 kills and middle blocker Dawn Bright with 10. Bright also had 10 block assists and 14 digs on the day to lead the Spartan defense. The team led the day with 38 total kills and 77 digs.

Senior Nicole Mantu led the Bulldogs with 12 kills and 16 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Katie Livingston led the match in digs with 21, which added to the team total of 75.

The Spartans resume conference play on October 11 at home against East Tennessee State while the Bulldogs travel to compete against Savannah State on October 8.
