Chris Goos recorded a season-high four assists in UNC Greensboro's 6-1 victory over Elon on Saturday evening in collegiate men's soccer action at UNCG Soccer Stadium. With the win, UNCG improves to 11-7-0 on the season and Elon slips to 5-12-1 overall.

UNCG's Kenny Bundy (Sr./Bixby, OK) got the scoring started at the 15:56 mark when he slipped behind Elon's defense and placed it in off an assist from Goos (Sr./Houston, TX). Elon wasted no time in tying the game, as Brandon Hayes buried a shot past a frozen Jay Benfield (Fr./Lewisville, NC) at 16:41.

The Spartans struck for their second goal when Jeff Lochrie (Jr./Austin, TX) scored on a header at the 23:10 mark off a corner kick from Goos. Just four minutes later Egill Atlason (Fr./Hafnarfjordur, Iceland) chipped in his seventh goal of the season off an assist from fellow countryman Svafnir Gislason (Sr./Reykjavik, Iceland). Gislason then recorded his own goal at the 39:39 mark off an assist from Goos. Cliff Patterson (Sr./Jacksonville, TX) ended the Spartans' first half scoring with a goal in the 42nd minute on a running header from Bundy. The score gave the Spartans a 5-1 advantage at the half.

The lone goal of the second half came when Casey Davis (Fr./Columbus, NC) blasted in his first career goal at 54:23. Goos was credited with the assist, his fourth of the evening.

Benfield picked up the win in goal for the Spartans, while recording three saves in 90 minutes of play. Adam Guy and Kyle Ostendorf split time in goal for the Phoenix and combined for seven saves.

UNCG returns to conference play again on Tuesday, November 5, against The Citadel. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm at the UNCG Soccer Stadium. Elon will travel to Charleston Southern on Wednesday, November 6.
