AUBURN, AL – The UNC Greensboro volleyball team earned its second win
of the year by defeating Auburn University, 3-1, in the War Eagle
Invitational on Saturday morning at the Student Activities Center in
Auburn, Alabama.

The Spartans (2-7) jumped out to the early taking the first game,
30-23, but Auburn (1-7) responded by winning the second match, 30-28.
UNCG fell behind in game three, 20-13, when Coach Stacy Meadows called a time out. UNCG responded by going on a 9-2 run which tied the game at
22-22, en route to a 30-27 win. Game four was all Spartans as they
opened with a 10-3 lead on their way to a 30-21 game four and match
victory.

Kim Dayton set a personal best for the season with 15 kills. Dawn
Bright added 12 kills and 10 digs, while Juliet Pack recorded 44
assists. The Tigers were led by Brittney Diaz's 15 kills and Lauren
Couch who registered 38 assists. The Spartans also out hit the Tigers
.171 to .159. 

The War Eagle Invitational continues on Saturday with Wyoming and
Middle Tennessee State squaring off at 2 p.m. while UNCG and Wyoming
will meet at 7 p.m. UNCG will play Middle Tennessee on Sunday at Noon.
