Box Score

GREENSBORO, NC – The UNC Greensboro volleyball team remained winless in Southern Conference play as the team was swept, 3-0, by Davidson Tuesday night in Fleming Gymnasium.

Davidson (9-6, 3-1 SoCon) used a quick hitting attack to jump out to an early lead, 11-6. UNCG (2-13, 0-5 SoCon) closed the gap to three points, 16-19, on a kill by sophomore Holly Long. However, the comeback was thwarted by strong play in the net by the Wildcats' Latisha Chapman who recorded a team-high 14 kills. Davidson took game one, 30-20, by out hitting the Spartans .250 to .077.

Game two proved to be the tightest match of the three, as the two teams traded points for most of the game. Rebekah Faulise's first kill of the match knotted the game at 10-10. Davidson answered by pushing the lead to 15-11, en route to a 30-26 game two win.

The Wildcats jumped out to a huge lead in game three, 21-9, but the Spartans rallied to within four points, 23-27, following two consecutive kills by junior LaJean Morrow. Davidson managed to hold off the Spartan attack to take game three, 30-25, and the match.

UNCG was led by LaJean Morrow's 14 kills. Kim Dayton added 13 digs defensively, while Juliet Pack recorded 35 assists and 12 digs. Dawn Bright tallied nine kills moving her into 10th place all-time at UNCG. Next on the list for Bright is Tammy Tindall who registered 657 kills during her career as a Spartan.

Davidson was led by Latisha Chapman's 14 kills. Julia Hueckel and Roberta Quis added 13 and 12 kills, respectively. Nicole Tonelli paced the Wildcat attack with 30 assists.
