UNCG-Furman Box Score

Greenville, SC - The UNC Greensboro volleyball team fell to Furman, 3-0, Tuesday night in Timmons Arena. With the loss, the Spartans move to 7-15 on the season and 3-7 in SoCon play, while the Lady Paladins improve to 14-12 overall and 9-3 in league play.

The Spartans matched Furman point for point in the early stages of the match. In game one, UNCG held Furman's Caitlin White to just one kill with the stout defense of Lauren Richards and Kim Dayton. The Lady Paladins, however, got six kills from Ally Hock in edging UNCG, 30-26, in game one.

After dropping game two, 30-17, the Spartans rallied behind the strong offensive effort of LaJean Morrow to challenge the Lady Paladins in game three. Furman though received four kills from White and Julia Fredrickson in taking game three, 30-26.

The Spartans were paced by LaJean Morrow's team-high nine kills and Kim Dayton's eight digs, while Lauren Richards totaled a team-high three blocks.

UNCG will return to action this weekend, as the Spartans visit both Davidson and Georgia Southern.
