Box Score
Raleigh, NC - NC State's Aaron King scored the game-winning goal with just six minutes remaining in regulation to give the Wolfpack a 2-1 victory over the UNC Greensboro men's soccer team Sunday afternoon in the Big Four Tournament.
After both teams were held scoreless in the first half, NC State struck first when Martin Cini played a long ball to King on the left side of the field. King then took it past a UNCG defender into the box and scored the first goal of the game in the 61st minute.
UNCG would answer in the 77th minute with a goal. James Goodman dribbled down the right side of the Pack defense and found freshman Randi Patterson in the penalty box. Patterson won a scramble in front of the State net and evened the score at 1-1 at the 76:58 mark.
As the game appeared destined for overtime, King struck again with the game-winning goal. The Wolfpack's second goal the same way as the first, with Cini finding King deep in Spartan territory. King's goal came at the 84:18 mark.
