Greensboro, NC - The UNC Greensboro volleyball team won their second straight match, Tuesday night, with a 3-0 sweep of Campbell in Fleming Gym. With the win, the Spartans move to 6-9 on the year and are within one game of matching last year's win total of seven.

In game one, UNCG opened with a strong 6-1 lead following a kill by LaJean Morrow. After the Spartans pushed the lead to 13-2, Campbell (0-14) reeled off three consecutive points, capped off by a kill from Addie Sorrenti, to close the gap to 13-5. UNCG, however, regained the momentum and pushed the lead back to 10, 16-6, en route to the 30-13 game one win.

Campbell opened game two strong with a 2-0 lead, but the Spartans rallied to take the lead at 4-3 after an assisted block from Adrian Hicks and Morrow. UNCG then pushed the lead to 20-12 before Campbell went on a 3-0 run, forcing a time-out. After the time-out, UNCG regrouped and reached game-point on a back row kill from Kim Dayton. The Spartans took game two, 30-19.

Early in game three UNCG and Campbell matched each other point for point, before the Spartans were able to take a slim 5-3 lead following back-to-back kills from Abbi Meyer. After falling behind 7-3, Campbell responded with two quick points highlighted by a kill from Che Cochrane, but from that point UNCG would cruise to a 30-14 victory.

"We met our goal tonight," said head coach Stacy Meadows-Kosciak. "We were finally able to put two solid matches back-to-back. Our seniors were able to step up, as did some other players, and we played well as a team. It was very important for us to get this win heading into conference play on Thursday and Friday."

A trio of Spartans posted 10 kills to lead the offense including Hilary Overby, Abbi Meyer and LaJean Morrow. Rebekah Faulise tallied 15 digs to lead the defensive effort, while Adrian Hicks registered 35 assists.

Che Cochrane posted five kills and 10 digs to lead the Camels. Brittany Russin chipped in with five kills and Sarah Dillon came off the bench to record 14 assists.

UNCG will return to action on Thursday as the Spartans visit SoCon rival Western Carolina at 7pm.
