GREENSBORO, NC The UNC Greensboro women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Southern Conference rival Elon tonight at Fleming Gymnasium by the score of 30-22, 30-17, 30-15. Hilary Overby led the Spartans with eight kills, while Rebekah Faulise came up with 21 digs to become just the second player at UNCG to record 500 digs in a single season.

The Phoenix (15-10, 7-3 SoCon) dominated play throughout the match. They broke a 9-9 tie in game one by rattling off 10 of the next 13 points to go ahead 19-12 and never looked back. Game's two and three were more of the same for Elon as they enjoyed double digit leads late in each game to win its third straight league match.

Emily Lucci and Emily Hayes put away 14 and 12 kills respectively to lead the Phoenix. Natalie Moore dished out an amazing 45 assists, while Mary Kate Spear had a match-high 22 digs.

Faulise, the senior from Mooresville, NC, continues to lead the Southern Conference with 5.07 digs per-game. She has compiled 1,141 digs for her career, which is sixth all-time at UNCG. Faulise joined Missi Olson as the only two players to have 500 digs in a season for the Spartans. Olson had 578 during the 1991 campaign.

Adrian Hicks, junior setter from Morganton, NC, dished out 25 assists for UNCG to up her season total to 787, which is the ninth best total in Spartans history.

UNCG will return the favor on Tuesday when they visit backyard rival Elon for a 7 pm conference match at Alumni Gym.
