UNCG-Appalachian State Box Score

GREENSBORO, NC UNC Greensboro lost in three games to Appalachian State in Southern Conference women's volleyball action tonight at Fleming Gymnasium. The first-place Mountaineers (21-7, 12-1 SoCon) won in dominating fashion by the score 30-26, 30-11 and 30-7.

Cindy VanDervoort led UNCG (3-27, 0-13 SoCon) with a team-high 11 kills, while Adrian Hicks and Lauren Richards put away six kills apiece. Hicks dished out 21 assists and Rebekah Faulise tallied a team-topping nine digs. Faulise moved into fifth-place all-time with 1,161 digs for her career. Next up on the list is current Spartan head coach Stacy Kosciak with 1,215.

Appalachian State was led by Stephanie Panzer's 14 kills, while Chrissy Finch and Samantha Giudici added 11 and 10 kills respectively. Amber Mangrum recorded 40 assists and Kali Rumberger notched a game-high 15 digs. The Mountaineers hit an incredibly efficient .495 percent on the evening with 50 kills against only three attack errors in 95 attempts.

UNCG will host Western Carolina on Saturday in a 2 pm contest at Fleming Gymnasium. Appalachian State will visit Elon tomorrow at Alumni Gym in Elon, NC.
