ROCK HILL, SC—Belmont University (6-0) got 14 kills from Erin Janson as the Bruins defeated the UNC Greensboro volleyball team, 3-0, in the opening match of the 2004 Hilton Garden Invitational hosted by Winthrop University. Belmont took the match with scores of 30-24, 30-17, 30-21.

The Spartans (1-3) were paced by the freshmen duo of Alysia Rosvold and Lauren Keiser who had eight and seven kills respectively. Junior Adrian Hicks had a team-high 24 assists.

UNCG continues play at the Hilton Garden Invitational on Saturday at 10 a.m., as the Spartans faced East Carolina, then will tangle with the host school Winthrop at 7 p.m.
