GREENSBORO, NC – After three back-and-forth games, High Point University used a big run midway through the fourth game to pull away and defeat UNC Greensboro, 3-1, in women's volleyball action at Fleming Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

The Panthers (6-7) rallied late to win the opening game, 34-32, before UNCG came back to win the second game, 30-25. High Point needed a late rally to win the third game, 31-29, before pulling away in the final game, 30-14, and spoiling the Spartans home opener.

Sophomore Hilary Overby, a product of Spring, TX, had 14 kills and six blocks for UNCG (1-10). Alysia Rosvold had a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs.

High Point got 17 kills each from Lindsey Pickens and Jamie Kaufman. Pickens also had 13 digs and seven aces.

UNCG returns to action this weekend when it hosts the Spartan Invitational. Action gets underway at 10 a.m. on Friday with UNCG's first match at 12:30 p.m. against Morgan State.
