GREENVILLE, SC— The UNC Greensboro volleyball team opened up Southern Conference action with a 3-0 loss to Furman, Tuesday night at Timmons Arena. The score of the match were 30-12, 30-15, 30-22. Furman improves to 6-7 overall, 1-1 in the SoCon, while the Spartans drop to 2-14, 0-1 in league play.

Furman was led by sophomore Juila Fredrickson who had a game-high 15 kills for a .545 hitting percentage. Chibuzo Aguocha and Whitney Purser had 11 and 10 kills respectively.

The Spartans were paced by freshman Alysia Rosvold who had eight kills. Adrian Hicks had ten set assists, while Rebekah Faulise had 10 digs.

UNCG travels to Appalachian State on Friday, while Furman travels to The Citadel. Both matches are set for 7 p.m.
