Boiling Springs, NC – The UNC Greensboro volleyball team went 1-1, Saturday, on day two of action from the Over-the-Mountain Volleyball Tournament hosted by Gardner-Webb. The Spartans defeated Lipscomb, 3-2, to open the day before falling to UT Martin, 3-1, in the final match of the tournament.

Against Lipscomb, the Spartans got on the board first by winning the opener 31-29. Lipscomb fought back to take the next two games 30-19 and 30-25 before UNC Greensboro forced a decisive fifth match with a 30-25 win. In the final game UNCG shut down the Bison attack, holding Lipscomb to a .056 hitting percentage en route to the 15-10 win.

Adrian Hicks paced the powerful Spartan attack with 49 assists and Rebekah Faulise bolstered the defense with her 26-dig performance. Lauren Keiser posted 16 kills and seven digs while Hilary Overby and Alysia Rosvold each added 14 kills.

In the final match of the tournament, UT-Martin took a 30-22, 30-15, 26-30, 30-22 win over UNC Greensboro.

UNCG placed four players in double-figure kills as Overby and Keiser had 10, Lauren Richards had 13 and Rosvold posted 11 kills and 16 digs.

In all, the Spartans went 1-2 at the tournament, while Lipscomb and UTM went 2-1. The host Bulldogs also posted a 1-2 record.

UNCG will return to the court on September 10 against Belmont.
