GREENSBORO, N.C. – As part of the Big South's 30th Anniversary celebration in 2013-14, the Conference is announcing its first-ever All-Decade Teams to recognize the student-athletes and coaches who excelled in their respective sport since the Conference's founding in 1983.
A committee of Big South Conference administrators served as the official voting panel to determine the All-Decade Teams, with fan voting comprising 20 percent of the overall total. The Spartans placed former Spartans Becky Morgan and Kareen Qually to the 1990-99 All-Decade Team.
Morgan is the most decorated women's golfer in UNCG history and one of the most decorated to ever play in the Big South Conference. She was a four-time All-Big South Conference selection from 1993-97, while also earning All-America honors three times in her career. She was inducted into the Big South Conference Hall of Fame and was also named and Academic All-America recipient during her career.
Morgan was a 10-time tournament medalist at the collegiate level during her career, including three straight Big South Conference Tournament championships (1995-97). She also was a four-time NCAA National Championships individual selection during her career, capping off with a 10th place showing at the 1997 NCAA National Championships. She moved onto the LPGA in 2000 and has played 13 years on the tour as a professional.
Qually was a four-time All-Big South Conference selection from 1992-96. She qualified for the NCAA Regional three times in her career from 1993-95, including a 56th place finish in 1993. In 1994, she placed fourth in the Big South Championship Tournament, her best finish of her career.
